Job Description
Title: Inspector B-1st shift
Grade: 25
SUMMARY:
Responsible for visually and mechanically inspecting a wide variety of mechanical products and the setting up of standard measuring equipment to verify product, material and equipment conformance to customer/company specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Works with complex blueprints, assembly prints and specifications; visually and mechanically inspects parts, subassemblies and assemblies on most company proudcts to ensure conformance to production specifications and quality standards.
2.
Performs the more standardized incoming, first piece, in-process, final floor, or bench inspection on a variety of parts and products. Generates QC documents as required.
3.
Sets up and performs complex mechanical inspections.
4.
Uses surface plate setups to maintain correct geometry during inspections.
5.
Uses such equipment as scales, vernier, height sticks, mocrometers, Rockwell tester, plug gauges, coordinate measuring machine and optical comparators while carrying out inspection procedures.
6.
Prepares reports and summary sheets, makes calculations and plots graphs indicating rates of acceptance and rejection.
7.
Notifies Inspections and Production Supervisors of quality problems.
8.
Maintains work area and qeuipment in a safe, clean and orderly condtions.
9.
May be called upon to perform production testing.
10.
Performs other related duties as directed.
