POSITION SUMMARY
Warehouse Associates will perform various activities such as receiving, sorting, loading and unloading, and shipping products. They will organize stock, maintain inventory, and process, pack, and ship orders. Keen attention to detail is a must.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESAssist in shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in productSort and place product on racks, shelves, or in bins according to bin codes or other predetermined orders - for example, type, size, color, etc.Pull customer orders from stock according to purchase orders and/or shipping ticketsPack and prepare orders for shipping using common carriers; check packing listsRecord amounts of items received or distributed in computerized inventory control systemConduct cycle countsOperate equipment (forklift, pallet movers) as necessaryUse company vehicle to make pickups and deliveries as necessaryMaintain a clean and orderly warehouse environmentFollow all safety protocol and warehouse proceduresPerforms other related duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, shipping manifests, packing lists and/or shipping listsBasic computer skills such as data entry, and using Microsoft Office productsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentKnowledge of warehouse activities and inventory control a plusExperience with multi-carrier shipping systems a plusMust have a valid driver's license and be able to pass an MVR driving checkMinimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceComputer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll SystemsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements for this position are typical for a medium work warehouse environment including frequent movement about the warehouse/office, climbing, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting 50+ pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is typical for a warehouse including occasional exposure to loud noise and outside temperatures of heat/cold. The environment may occasionally include exposure to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and working on scaffolding or high places.
