The Cigna Group is seeking an experienced communications professional to join the Evernorth Communications team as a
Communications Senior Advisor – PBM Reputation . In this role, you will lead and execute proactive communications strategies, including reputation and issues management, thought leadership projects, public affairs communications and crisis preparedness, for Evernorth’s Pharmacy Benefit Management business. Success comes from taking a collaborative, enterprise approach that drives impact.Responsibilities:Develop and implement reputational communications strategies – proactively telling our value story and addressing areas of potential risks and vulnerabilities.
Lead issues management communications in coordination with business communicators, media relations, and public affairs colleagues to drive effective internal and external responses.
Execute proactive public affairs and communications campaigns across a range of audiences and issues.
Support development and execution of research-based thought leadership campaigns to demonstrate our perspective on improving the health care ecosystem.
Develop and implement comprehensive crisis communications playbook and execute protocols and processes to ensure readiness for potential industry, member and client issues. Conduct risk assessments, scenario planning, and simulations to strengthen preparedness efforts.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain open lines of communication, address concerns, and provide updates to ensure transparency and trust.
Monitor healthcare industry trends, public sentiment, and social media platforms to identify potential issues and anticipate crisis scenarios. Conduct post-crisis analysis and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Develop and deliver issues preparedness communication training programs for key stakeholders, including executives, spokespersons, and staff members. Ensure that teams are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively.
Serve in a consultative role for PBM Communications working in a highly matrixed environment.
Qualifications:At least 10 years of communications experience.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, journalism, creative writing, marketing, health policy, public administration or similar field preferred.
Strong experience in reputation building, issues, crisis, project and stakeholder management.
Health care experience strongly preferred.
Strong initiative to take projects from inception to completion while collaborating in a highly matrixed environment.
Strong editorial judgement, and exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into crisp, user-friendly communications.
Adept at planning, managing and prioritizing work to meet tight deadlines.
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, creative self-starter who is eager to take on projects, learn new concepts, and dive into new territories.
Results-oriented, with a proven track record of executing strategic communications programming, preferably in a large matrixed organization.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 107,900 - 179,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.We want you to be healthy, balanced, and feel secure.
