Associate Director, Product Development

is not just a product junkie but also has a strong, well-developed eye for color, aesthetics, trends, and culture. This role manages 3 direct reports and is responsible for strategically developing and managing all Category product development for new launches, existing product extensions, and as needed, limited edition partnership projects.The ideal candidate is great at high-level critical thinking, strategic problem solving with foresight to minimize roadblocks and risk de-escalation to ensure the most creative breakthrough launches.The

will lead the development of new products from ideation to launch across multiple color categories and strategic adjacencies ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, efficacy, and market relevance. This position will provide direction and oversight for a variety of tasks required for new product launches, product extensions, and reformulations.As an Associate Director, Product Development, you'll:Mentor and elevate talent with an ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional and external partnersDemonstrate a deep knowledge and passion for the beauty industry with an ability to identify ingredients and technologies that will elevate and differentiate new and existing product performanceDirect new product programs with expertise and passion for formulas, ingredients, benefits, and usage with relevance to the portfolioDirect development of formulas and shades to R&D, evaluate and follow-through on all aspects of the product development cycle to ensure timelines are being achievedRecommend benchmarks and ingredient proposals that elevate, expand, and deliver on product brief conceptsChampion consumer and clinical testing of new productsSupport the product development process (innovation and reformulations) to ensure it runs smoothly and efficientlyDevelop and implement aesthetic standards, processes, and controls to ensure that product standards for performance and color are clear, aligned, and achievedManage and develop direct reports, including hiring, training, coaching, and supporting career developmentWhat skills & experience do I need for this role?8+ years of experience in color cosmetics product development.
