About the Role:
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Public Relations to join our team. As a strategic thinker and exceptional communicator, you'll develop and execute comprehensive communications and media relations strategies that align with our mission, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic earned media plans to promote our brand and messaging
Direct and manage media relations, including press releases, media pitches, and media and influencer FAMs
Manage the digital influencer strategy and program
Establish and maintain media relationships with key contacts and publications
Supervise the Communications team to ensure program success and efficiency
Collaborate with the content team to align and integrate social media content with PR and influencer initiatives
Our Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field
3-5 years of experience in a director-level Communications or Public Relations position
Prior experience in destination marketing, travel and tourism, or PR agency roles
Proven sound independent decision-making abilities
Knowledge of Monterey County products and assets
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel and familiar with cloud computing environments
What We Offer:
Competitive salary range of $90,000 -$110,000 depending on experience
