Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours weekly Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - EKG interpretation- Critical thinking skills- Knowledge of critical drips (vasopressors, sedation) titration knowledge- Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable Job Description: - Work in a hospital with 294 beds and Joint Commission Accreditation.- Engage in a variety of specialty care areas, including cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services.- Participate in bi-weekly orientation programs as part of the joining process.- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in delivering patient care in the ICU and Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) departments.- Handle a patient ratio of ICU 2:1, IMU 3:1, Telemetry 1:5.- Operate and interpret various pieces of equipment, such as cardiac monitors, Abbott Glucometer, EndoTool, and Baxter IV pumps.- Engage with the patient population mainly consisting of adults with diagnoses such as COPD, ARF, DKA, Sepsis, and Shock.- Ensure effective communication and coordination among the healthcare team, led by the Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse.- Dress Code: Scrubs (no particular color assigned), maintaining hygiene standards with no artificial nails. Additional Information: - 15-minute drive to a local lake and proximity to major universities.- The hospital offers advanced medical services including bedside dialysis capability.- The unit uses Meditech EMR for electronic health records management.
