Join our team! Iberia Foods, a leading distributor of Caribbean and Latin American brands, is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our team. As a Corporate Accountng Manager, you will you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports, ensuring compliance with all corporate and regulatory filing requirements, applicable accounting principles and regulations. This position is hybrid and reports directly to the Company CFO. This position is based in
Monroe, NJ ,however, candidates who can commute to
Brooklyn, NY , or
Miami, FL
will be considered. Salary is based on the NY Metropolitan area up to $145,000. Salary is commensurate with experience and location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESStay up to date with changes in accounting standards and regulations and provide guidance to the organization on their impact including implementation of new accounting standards.Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of financial statements from multiple business unitsSupport external audit and regulatory reporting processes
Budgets
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of budgets from multiple business units
Accounting Operations:
Manage and oversee day-to -day accounting operations, including Fixed Assets, Leases, accruals, and general ledger.Prepare, review, and approve corporate journal entries, reconciliation, and other financial reportsMaintain and update the general ledger to accurately reflect all financial transactions and account balancesEnsure recoinciliation of all intercompany accountsEnsure intercompany profit eliminationMonitor and maintain the chart of accounts and financial systems
Research and Documentation
Conduct in-depth research on accounting issues and document conclusions in a clear and concise mannerMaintain comprehensive documentation on accounting policies and proceduresMaintain comprehensive documentation on regulatory filing requirements
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Assess and enhance internal controls related to financial reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.Ensure all accounting processes comply with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, tax regulations and internal policies.
Process Management:
Develop and maintain efficient accounting processes, procedures, and controls to ensure financial operations run smoothly to provide accurate and timely financial reportingConduct financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement and provide actionable insights to senior management
Continuous improvement:
Continuously assess and improve financial reporting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracyIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance internal controlsDevelop and implement best practices related to technical accounting
Audit Coordination:
Work closely with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support to ensure a smooth audit process
Support FP&A, Legal, and Tax RequirementsIntegration of new Acquisitions
Adapt the Integration Playbook to create a specific finance integration plan for the acquired businessManage completion of opening balance sheets, QoE roll-forward, and purchase price accounting, including fair value accounting & uplifts, creation of intangibles, tax accounting, etc. for each acquisitionIdentify and track synergies for each integration programPerform or facilitate purchase accounting for the acquisitionManage financial metrics for each integration program and drive resultsFirst 90 day Accounting and FP&A activities may include: Integration of treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and reporting
Integration of accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, audit, and tax
Fixed asset managementTransition to accrual accountingImplementation of internal controls, accounting policiesManagement of Month-end close processCreation of reporting packages for management & consolidation

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in accounting and 7+ years of experience with CPA or equivalent designation or any combination of education and experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team membersProficiency in financial software and ERP systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and high degree of accuracyStrong organization and project management skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Must be professional, organized, articulate, thorough, and collaborative
