Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical - Nephrology Surgical Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: At least 2 years of experience, primarily on a surgical unit License: Compact license preferred, WA license accepted in active or in-process status Certifications: BLS (Required) Must-Have: Fast-paced team-focused experience Job Description: - Work in a nephrology surgical unit.- Average daily census of 25 with 27 rooms and 30 beds.- Maintain a staffing ratio of 1:5.- Handle patient diagnoses including renal, urology, transplant issues, ESRD, urologic disorders, and transplant rejection.- Manage post-operative care for urologic procedures, bowel surgeries, vascular surgeries, bariatric surgeries, and renal and liver transplants.- Perform chest tube set-up and care.- Administer blood and blood products.- Use and maintain various medical devices such as drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, fistula, PCA pumps, PICC lines, Port-A-Cath, syringe pumps, and triple lumen catheters.- Operate wound vacs and administer medications like heparin and insulin.- Cover every other weekend.- Floating required to similar units based on skill set.- Participate in orientation for 40 hours.- Modules completed pre-start, with an average of 16 hours spent.Housing resources available for applicants.
