Job Description Summary:The Biostatistics Center of the Milken Institute School of Public Health is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington (GW) University located in Rockville, Maryland. The Biostatistics Center is seeking a full-time Senior SAS Programmer and Data Coordinator to work on the data coordinating center team supporting the NIH-funded Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units (MFMU) Network. The MFMU Network has multiple ongoing clinical trials and epidemiological studies with plans to implement several more trials in the currently funded cycle. The Senior SAS Programmer and Data Coordinator will be responsible for assisting study teams in study reporting, data quality and assurance, and creation of clinical center payment reports, analytic datasets, and de-identified datasets.Essential duties include:- Assists with MFMU Network SAS Programming tasks, such as study reporting, data quality and assurance, and the clinical center payment reports. Develops and or modifies technical statistical reports by writing/modifying macros and routines for use by multiple research studies and a large group of biostatisticians and project managers.- Leads the creation of de-identified SAS datasets and supporting documentation to be deposited in the NICHD Data and Specimen Hub (DASH). This includes verifying key analytic variables, editing across files for consistency, generating metadata, codebooks and format catalogs, and writing data users documentation. Files needs to be masked to PII and sensitive data, but still linked appropriately. Datasets cataloging biospecimens will be formatted to DASH specifications.- Oversees the repository of biospecimens and works with the project manager/biostatistician to identify samples for a particular analysis. Interacts with the company overseeing storage of specimens and is able to access and download files from their inventory system. Subsequently, imports laboratory results once available and merges with the analytic dataset.- Participates in general staff meetings or study-specific meetings as required. Communicates with the Biostatistics Center Systems Support staff and Administrative staff relating to systems and administrative details as needed.- Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Minimum Qualifications:Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Masters degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the field of maternal-child health.

High level SAS or other technical programming and good technical writing skills for program documentation.

Previous experience in clinical trials/data management with strong scientific and quantitative skills.

Use of MS Office Suite.Hiring Range$78,578.35 - $150,673.10
