Aon in partnership with Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking a Director - Risk Manager - Commercial

Work Style: Hybrid - work in the Chicago office 2-3 days a week. *Relocation Assistance Available for the ideal candidate.

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a Director level Risk Manager to join its global team. The position reports to the Executive Director Global Risk Management.

This is a management level position with 3 direct reports. The primary focus and responsibility will be leading JLL’s Commercial Team (Casualty, Excess/Umbrella, Aviation, Environmental, Receivership & Surety programs) to deliver both strategic and tactical results in line with and supporting JLL’s goals, objects and business operations.

The position is located in Chicago; some travel required, primarily in the U.S. The position will provide insurance and risk management advice and support to JLL stakeholders and will coordinate with the other Jones Lang Lasalle risk management personnel.

Requirements:

Broad knowledge and understanding of insurance markets, specifically within Casualty insurance products.

Knowledge of large, self-insured retention programs.

Support the management of captive insurance programs.

Aptitude to analyze and interpret actuarial reports.

Ability to work with all levels within JLL including insurance brokers, legal counsel, claims administrators and actuaries.

Lead a team of 3 Risk Managers.

Adaptability to manage multiple streams of work and multiple relationships in an effective and efficient manner.

Establish influential relationships with external market including vendors, customers, industry experts and consultants to bolster innovation.

Ability to understand and interpret contracts and insurance policies.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with a professional qualification in insurance or risk management is desired.

Ten plus years of demonstrable experience in Casualty and ancillary coverage lines.

Strong technical insurance background and experience from corporate Risk Management, Underwriting and/or broking.

Experience managing senior/mid-level staff that promotes both results and team cohesiveness.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $180,000 to $190,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, IL. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
