Our strength in healthcare innovation empowers us to build a world where complex diseases are prevented, treated, and cured.Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs & Clinical Research, the Director Medical Affairs North America will manage and support academic educational partnerships and represent Abiomed at national and international conferences.Principal Duties and Responsibilities :Leading, motivating, and developing team members.Manage and organize evidence dissemination in alignment with commercial partners.Maintain extensive clinical/scientific expertise as a subject matter expert.Serve as a credible scientific subject matter expert to various stakeholders.Develop peer-level relationship networks with thought leaders and organizations.Facilitate education on disease state and product pipeline.Work with Medical Office leadership to develop and execute strategic plans.Capture and report scientific insights from interactions with customers.Represent Medical Affairs at scientific meetings.Contribute to medical material preparation and review.Participate in educational and training purposes.QualificationsRequirementsAdvanced Degree (PhD or MD) in the cardiovascular space.5 years of Medical Affairs experience in medical device or biotechnology industries, including 2 years in a leadership role.Ability to network and partner with external customers.Knowledge of national and society guidelines, clinical research processes.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to travel nationally and internationally approximately 60% of the time.For more information on how we support the health of our employees, please visit
