This employee is responsible for assisting with the commercial underwriting and closing, commercial single-site transactions; commercial multi-site and multi-state refinance and sale transactions for accounting and escrow functions; for answering inquiries from customers and staff on pending transactions; and for maximum levels of customer satisfaction in the providing of title and closing services.Our preference is for local candidates that can work in our Chicago office, but we may consider qualified candidates outside of Chicago.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assist with the Underwriting of title insurance policy coverages for commercial real estate transactions.Assist national commercial escrow officer in closing transactions.Assist in the negotiation policy coverage and endorsement coverage in connection with the issuance of owner’s and loan title insurance policies.Serve as a resource for sales executives and their clients when they have title insurance and/or real estate questions.Gain knowledge of conveyance documents, including deeds and mortgages.Assist people and their clients when they have title insurance and/or real estate questions.Ability to supervise assistants and support staff, as necessary.Be responsible for the management of revenue.The above statements reflect the principal function and most significant duties of the job and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that are inherent in the job.Qualifications needed to be successful:Minimum 5+ years' experience in real estate commercial underwriting and closing single and multi-site commercial transactions for properties located nationwide.JD Degree required, Bar certified in Illinois preferred.Solid understanding of endorsement and policy coverages along with experience of negotiating these coverages with principals and their attorneys.Have a working knowledge of State-by-State title insurance guidelines and real estate practices to include endorsement availability, policy availability, transfer tax, mortgage tax, and forms of conveyance.Possess the ability to work on several transactions at one time in a fast-paced environment.Have outstanding customer service skills as well as a willingness and ability to work with a team of people in a professional and collegial manner.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to prioritize and handle multiple projectsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and OutlookWe offer a competitive salary, and an excellent benefit package including health, life, and disability insurance; paid time off; and retirement plans.Old Republic Title is an Equal Opportunity Employer
