**License:** NC or Compact license (Pending is OK for submission; required in hand at start)
**Certifications:** ACLS, BCLS, NIH
**Must-Have:**- Willing to accept first-time travelers- Comfortable with a patient ratio of 1:5-6- Ability to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed- Comfortable with telemetry, IV starts, and handling cardiac patients- Experience with pre and post-procedures, cardiac drips, and PCIs- Ability to use special equipment like telemetry, pulse ox, high flow O2, and BiPAP on chronic conditions
**Job Description:**
- Provide care in the primary cardiac and stroke unit, handling stable pre/post care for pacemaker implants, implanted cardioverter/defibrillators, cardiac catheterizations, and TR bands.- Manage patient diagnoses including unstable angina, low-risk chest pain evaluation, CHF, Dysrhythmias, and all new CVA and TIA patients.- Run multiple drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, Amiodarone, etc.- Titrate Cardizem drips and manage high patient turnover (78 to 90 patients a week).- Collaborate with a team lead for admissions and discharges.- Perform charting and documentation via EPIC and use SBAR communication for patient handoffs.- Manage COVID-positive patients with opti-flow and BiPAP in specified sections of the unit.- Fulfill call requirements based on patient census and work every other weekend, plus two Mondays and two Fridays in a 6-week period.- Participate in a structured 36-hour unit orientation and adhere to a fatigue policy limiting workdays and weekly hours.- Wear navy blue or white scrubs, or a combination; jackets must be of the same material and color.
**Additional Notes:**- RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out on-site; absence could lead to cancellation and Do Not Return status.- There are blackout RTO periods from 11/28/2024 to 12/02/2024 and 12/18/2024 to 01/02/2025.- No block scheduling is allowed.
