About the role:
Reporting to the Fund Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for accounting and financial reporting across Unison Investment Management's investment vehicle entities. As with any high-growth company, the duties associated with this position will be flexible and expand beyond accounting to portfolio analytics, forecasting, data management, and investor relations. This position requires excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage assigned areas of responsibility
This is a hybrid position with a requirement of 2-3 days in our Omaha, Nebraska OR San Francisco, CA offices.
Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Fund Administrator to ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly fund financials, including NAV review, capital contributions/distribution, and other fund financial activitiesAct as the first point of contact for all matters pertaining to invoice allocation and approval process of invoicesPerform or review the calculation of management fees, carried interest, fund performance, and other portfolio-level fees/balancesEvaluate and analyze movements in asset valuation, and assist with the preparation of materials for the Valuation CommitteeAssist with the preparation of monthly servicer reports for fund transactionsAssist and collaborate with the external auditors during the annual auditsAssist with the treasury function for all investment vehiclesWork closely with the Corporate Finance team to assist with invoice allocation, Capital Markets & Institutional Sales teams on ad-hoc diligence requests, and Data Science team on investment valuationEnsure internal control activities are appropriately followed and monitoredAssist with the development of policies and procedures, as well as process improvements for the various business cycles to streamline accounting processesBe willing to grow with the companyOther duties as assignedAbout you:
2+ years of external audit experience in the investment management, venture capital, private equity, or mortgage company realmsBS/BA in Accounting or FinanceSelf starter who is dependable and proactive in executing responsibilitiesStrong analytical skills and great attention to detailExcellent Microsoft Excel and communication skillsAbility to manage multi-project workloads within tight deadlines through strong organizational and planning skillsExperience working in a fast-paced, growing work environmentTeam-oriented work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships and work cross functionallyIt's a bonus if:You have your CPA or are working towards itExperience with Bill.com and treasuryFamiliarity with SQL and/or automation
