Skilled Tig Welder

Job title: Tig Welder
Location: Elyria, OH
Shift: 1 st (7 am to 3:30 pm with OT as needed)
Salary: $17 to $25 an hour based on experience

Responsibilities

• Positions and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.
• Determines required equipment, welding method and welding techniques.
• Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc on welder.
• Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies. Primarily TIG welding, some MIG welding.
• Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Starting pay is $17-$25/hr BOE, with performance-based increase given upon permanent hire.
• 1 st shift 7am 3:30pm, with ability to work OT weekly. This could include 9 to 10 hour days and/or Saturdays
• Temp to Hire opportunity with the company.

• 5 years' experience in TIG welding working with material such as carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, and others.
• Experience with MIG welding is a plus.
• Be able to read and follow a blueprint, read a tape measure, and perform basic math.
• Will need to have flexibility to cross train and help in Cleveland (West side) plant for short periods of time.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Will be subject to a 10-panel drug screen and other pre-employment screening.
• Must be a non-smoker
