The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a diverse range of accounting tasks, including balance sheet reconciliation, assisting with month-end and year-end tasks, journal entries, and general ledger management. Responsibilities:
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Assist with year-end tasks, including audit preparation and tax filing.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Manage the general ledger, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting procedures and refine financial reporting processes.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close, year-end tasks, journal entries, and general ledger.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
