The GIS Analyst Lead will lead and train employees in AutoCAD and GIS mapping, updating electric maps, and utilizing data systems like CIS, eAM, CARES, and CYME. Provide electric map data and construction sketches, coordinate design and construction postings, and maintain official records. Assign tasks, monitor progress, review work for accuracy, and approve data and maps before release. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Train and direct mapping technicians in AutoCAD and GIS mapping functions, including updating electric distribution maps, maintaining facility records, and providing map data to internal and external customers. This includes preparing detailed drawings of electrical distribution facilities, managing electric infrastructure databases, and ensuring accurate connectivity models and component attributes. Mapping team personnel are trained in the operation of workstations, plotters, and digital storage, ensuring quality assurance in delivering sketches, maps, and documents to various stakeholders. Additionally, train clerical support personnel in maintaining databases like CIS, GIS, and eAM, preparing construction sketches, interpreting engineering plans, and processing payments. Coordinate work assignments received from engineering areas, ensuring proper execution by researching and gathering project information such as drawings, specifications, and legal records. Investigate and resolve data issues in the electric distribution mapping system, verifying symbology, naming conventions, and attribute collection to comply with service policies and standards. Analyze and solve mapping data problems, ensuring proper interaction with designers and map users. Review completed work before distribution, monitor system performance, and implement necessary changes. Serve as a liaison between internal and external departments, governmental agencies, developers, and the general public, providing information on electrical infrastructure and block/ section numbers. Prepare various reports, timesheets, and budgets, and operate multiple software applications like Oracle EBS, Microsoft Office, and GIS systems. Ensure adequate supply of printing materials, troubleshoot system issues, and create work process documentation and training materials for the division. Operate Division vehicle and other equipment as necessary. Perform other duties as directed.

Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Planning Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 4 years professional experience in GIS/CAD mapping and technology or Associates Degree in areas listed above or related field with 8 years professional experience in GIS/CAD mapping and technology.

Must successfully complete NIMS training within one year of entering the job. Must have knowledge/skills in computer-aided design drafting. Works in office majority of time; occasionally outside under good conditions. Subject to light lifting of maps/boxes, sitting for long periods of time, eye fatigue, occasionally, crouching, stooping and bending during occasional field trips and other hazardous associated with field inspections.
