Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:30 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Epic experience, recent Trauma Level One experience, competency with EVDs, bolts, and ICP management, experience with trauma and complex surgical patients Job Description: - Provide specialized care to critically ill adult patients aged 14 and older.- Work within the Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.- Care for patients with conditions related to major elective and emergency surgical procedures, multi-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, stroke, seizure, sepsis/multi-organ system failure, hemodynamic instability, and failure to wean.- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and intensive monitoring.- Manage laboratory values, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.- Utilize special skills such as ICP monitoring via EVD and bolt, spinal drains/catheters, brain oxygen monitoring, Artic Sun therapy, continuous EEG, intra-arterial catheter use, non-invasive cardiac output, mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, reconstructive flap monitoring, and massive blood transfusion.- Support on-unit procedures including placement of arterial lines, central lines, external ventricular drains and ICP monitors, SEPS drains, bedside bronchoscopy, abdominal washouts, tracheostomy, gastrostomy tube placement, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and pigtail drains.- Competency test required within 48 hours of application submission.
