The Analyst, Origination will report to the Vice President of Origination and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration, coordination, and management of the responsibilities set forth below. This individual will assist in sourcing new opportunities, preparing proposals, managing contracts, and conducting market research. The role demands strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of energy markets, and a passion for driving the growth of renewable energy and storage solutions.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree1-3 years of experience in the energy industryStrong computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookMay be required to work hours in addition to 8am -5pm, Monday – Friday, including evenings and occasional weekends.
Occasional travel may be required.Responsibilities:Market Research & Analysis:Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential origination opportunities for energy storage projects.Analyze energy market trends, regulatory developments, and policy changes to assess their impact on the energy storage sector.Develop insights into regional power markets, including utility and off takers needs, renewable energy integration, and capacity markets.Opportunity Sourcing and Proposal Preparation:Assist the origination team in identifying new leads and business development opportunities.Evaluate potential partnerships, off-take agreements, and long-term contracts with utilities, energy retailers, and commercial/industrial customers.Lead the development of proposal and pricing for new opportunities, with a focus on responding to Request for Proposal, executing Power Purchase Agreement, Build Transfer Agreements and New Commercial TransactionsCoordinate with development, finance, engineering, market operations and other departments to develop solutions for customers, including assisting in the development of proposals and pricing for opportunitiesSupport the development and maintenance of a pipeline of energy storage projects, focusing on areas of strategic importance. Including siting and M&A.Financial Modeling & Proposal Support:Manage and diligence financial models for evaluating the economics of energy storage projects, including revenue stacking, capacity payments, and energy arbitrage opportunities.Assist in negotiations for power purchase agreements (PPAs), tolling agreements, and other energy contracts.Contract Management & Coordination:Coordinate with internal teams, including finance, engineering, and legal, to ensure seamless contract execution and project delivery.Track contract milestones and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.Provide support during the negotiation and closing of contracts with off takers and customers.Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement:Prepares materials for customer presentations and support those relationships.Manages origination reporting needs to upper management.Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and other networking opportunities to stay informed about market trends and establish connections.CRM Management & Reporting:Maintain and update databases of project opportunities, market analysis, and customer information.Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of origination activities and market outlook.Preferred Skills:Master’s degree in business, Statistics and/or MarketingExperience with energy storage and/or renewable energyWorking knowledge of RTO operations, power generation and storage technologiesProven creativity skills and capacity to solve problems with out of the box solutions.Knowledge of energy trading and market pricing dynamics.Proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis.A solid track record of success in a development or sales capacity in the clean energy sectorStrong sales, marketing, and time management skillsProficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or CRM softwareFamiliarity with energy trading platforms and energy storage modelingBenefitsCompensation and benefits offered will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
