DESCRIPTION

Builds, repairs, and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. Performs tests in accordance with set test methods and works with relevant engineering functions to develop and execute testing. Drives continuous improvement in test setup and testing methods. Aids in analysis of test data.

Works with performance engineers to develop measurement techniques; manages/leads test system and test article issue resolution process; manages

system teardown consensus reviews, including data analysis, test and teardown reports.

Participates in and leads Failure Mode Effects Analysis; performs data analysis, documents systems tests and calibration reviews in technical reports;

presents test finding; prepares problem resolution Information for Failure Incident Reporting Group meetings; participates in problem solving teams.

Coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering and tracking.

Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.

Develops and conducts training programs.

Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops,

leads and participates in improvement projects.

Manages own work and adjusts work priorities in order to meet the demands; participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands.

Performs other duties as required.

Job Summary:

Works autonomously to provide system operational support ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and availability of IT resources and systems for end users while coaching and developing less experienced IT Support Associates. Must work collaboratively with others.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs IT production support for assigned area(s) according to documented processes. Manages process documentation and standards. Diagnoses and problem solves issues with IT hardware or software components with little or no direction. Requires the ability to install, configure, or disposition IT hardware and/or application issues. Troubleshoots assigned issues per department standards to resolution with responsibility to circle back with customer to confirm resolution. Proactively identify potential issues and provide solutions. Uses Incident Management system to manage reported issues or requests submitted by end users and log any actions or support provided. Analyzes data to identify trends and taking necessary action. Trains less experienced associates on IT support processes and tools and identify additional training opportunities as needed. Assists with additional IT responsibilities as assigned. Coach and develop IT Support resources and supervise the work of contract resources. Champions the use of Six Sigma to reduce costs and improve processes. Identifies opportunities for service improvements, discuss with the customer and raise the request for change for assessment if appropriate

Uses mastery of trade skills and knowledge along with proficiency in other trades to solve technical problems; interacts fluently with those in other trades to complete work assignments and mentor on trade expertise.

Thoroughly understands Cummins’ processes and equipment; makes recommendations to management on process improvements.

Provides technical leadership to cross-functional teams; uses mastery of trade to accelerate performance of others through training and development.

Is recognized as a subject matter expert; acts as a consultant for other teams to solve unique technical problems.

Develops training materials and documentation; conducts training programs.

Reports project performance or progress updates to management or Engineering.

Shares responsibility for and leadership of shift change meetings when necessary.

Understands, applies, and sets the example for appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work and to systems; participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.

Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling and mentoring for training materials. Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies. Interacts effectively with all s of employees throughout the company.

Exercises independent decision-making and initiative in determining what needs to be done and planning and implementing the needed activities; performs problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands-on applications; coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience (to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations) required. Associate Degree, relevant industry training, certification or equivalent experience preferred. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in a related field.

Experience:

Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.

Department of Labor Certification OR four year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience. Demonstrated ability to mentor and train others. Demonstrated mastery of the trade skillset. Knowledge of Cummins environment, work teams, equipment, and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links

Use of communication devices are imperative in this role: computer, phone, email, Microsoft office

Network Services, Cisco, Aruba, CCNA, Network Infrastructure components and installation.

Network Installation Engineer/Field Tech – 5% Time

Installs new and replacement switches/routers into racks at customer sites

Works with customers and remote support teams to validate installation

Domestic US travel required

Clean US driving license required

Weekend and off hours work required

Good communication skills

Network Project Engineer – 60% Time

Works in a project team to design and deliver Enterprise Network Solutions for customer sites to agreed schedule

Works with customer to define requirements

Produces LAN/WLAN BOM from standard catalogue

Manages 3rd party suppliers, installers, cablers, Telecom providers, Remote Network Support Teams

Domestic US Travel may be required

Clean US driving license required

Good communication skills

Network Support Engineer – 35% Time

Remotely Troubleshoots LAN/WAN/WLAN issues

Accurately communicate status with customer and leadership

Proven troubleshooting capabilities for Cisco LAN, Aruba WiFi

Helps to manage Network Monitoring platform

Works with customers to agree on downtime for Network Maintenance and technology migrations

Good communication skills
