This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings between January - March 2025. Trainees will participate in our 12-month work and training program in our Oregon facilities.All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ poundsAbility to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as neededWorking in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environmentsBending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a dayAscending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitationNOTE: Amazon is not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future for these positions. Effective May 15, 2017, logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States).Key job responsibilitiesPerforming server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/requiredServing as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractorsPerforming on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activitiesContributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issuesA day in the lifeAs a Data Center Technician professional, you have industry-leading technical abilities and demonstrate a breadth of knowledge while you:Take ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolutionSolve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader contextMaintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reportingYou will be required to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays. Traveling within the regional work area is required.
