GIS Coordinator

Daily tasks may include:

Communicating with project managers as to the status of GIS tasks on their projects.Answering GIS tech support questions from end users.Providing guidance and insight on GIS options for project tasks.Corresponding with vendors and clients on project data or project deliverables.GIS analysis via ArcGIS Pro projects using common geoprocessing tools.Field data collection setup with mobile devices and ArcGIS Field Maps or QuickCapture.Duties and responsibilities

Provides advanced analytical support for various Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Technology projects; assists in training technical teams, and development of project documentsProvides analysis, programming, and testing to support the continual development and refinement of McAdams' GIS Platforms, and provides feedback for improvementProvides independent data interpretation while effectively maintaining data documentationCreates and modifies GIS datasets; manages and maintains legacy GIS datasets.Develops and implements GIS-based analyses supporting civil engineering, transportation, planning, and survey projectsProduces technically skilled and detailed solutions to include preparing clear, complete, and accurate representations of spatial data using hardcopy and/or electronic mediaCore responsibility includes processing data and graphics requests from project team members and anticipating information needs and presentation formats as part of engineering, planning and survey workflowsDevelops and maintain geospatial data on desktop and mobile applications. Ensure data meets appropriate data accuracy and content standards for quality assurance and quality controlUnder supervision, aids in the development and maintenance of web, desktop, and mobile applications that improve productivity, and helps maintain geospatial and non-GIS relational databasesRequired experience

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related field with demonstrated capabilities in GIS3 years performing GIS activities and data analysis with some experience in project managementGISP Certification (or eligible and able to obtain GISP within 12 months)Previous work in/familiarity with consulting engineers and/or surveyorsHands-on knowledge of Esri ArcGIS desktop software, including ArcMap and ArcGIS ProComprehensive knowledge of Enterprise GISStrong understanding of IT systems and platformsStrong understanding of geodatabases and geodatabase applicationsAbility to work with vector and raster datasetsFamiliar with GPS data collection and data management, including ArcGIS FieldMapsAbility to use and edit shapefiles and geodatabases (personal, file, and enterprise)Experience working with different coordinate systems, map projections, and datumsFamiliarity with standard cartographic methods, theories and principlesAbility to independently manage multiple assignments, determine and set job task priorities, and work with limited direct supervision.Experience using Python, ModelBuilder or another common GIS scripting language is desirable, as job duties will include creating scripts to streamline frequently performed tasksExcellent written and graphics skills needed for technical reports and presentations.Preferred but not required

Experience using AutoCAD and DWG filesExperience using Google Earth and KMZ filesFamiliar with LiDAR datasets and usageFamiliar with hydraulic modelling platforms such as HEC-RAS and SWMM.Experience with surface water hydraulics and hydrology for drainage infrastructure / conveyance design, flood mapping, and flood mitigation studies.Experience with civil engineering design and analysis for land development.McAdams is an equal opportunity employer.
