Job Summary
As a
Project Accountant
at Cotton Holdings, you'll be an essential part of our project teams, ensuring financial accuracy and accountability. Your role will involve managing contract modifications, compliance, payments, and financial reporting. You'll take ownership of all project-related billing and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy in time and material records. With occasional travel to project sites, you'll see firsthand the impact of your work in fast-paced environments ranging from command centers to field offices.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management : Oversee all accounting functions for assigned projects, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, billing, and compliance.Data Collection & Reporting : Assimilate data from multiple sources to produce detailed financial reports and audit records in accordance with GAAP.Audit & Reconciliation : Review job-related documentation, identify discrepancies, and resolve audit issues using sound judgment and discretion.Collaboration : Act as a liaison between the project team, clients, and auditors to ensure smooth communication and problem resolution.Process Improvement : Analyze financial trends and recommend improvements to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.Travel : Be available to visit project sites (up to 50% travel) to participate in status reviews and ensure financial operations align with project needs.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education & Experience:
2+ years of experience in project accounting, general accounting, or bookkeeping.Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience with financial reporting, payroll, A/R, job costing, and contract status management.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
(intermediate level and above) and other accounting software.Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Key Attributes:
Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.A proactive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to travel frequently and work overtime/weekends as needed to support project demands.
