**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Pool

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years required

**License:** Active RN License Required

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS

**Must-Have:** At least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting

**Job Description:**

- Float Pool includes MedSurg Tele and PCU across campuses, including inpatient holding in ED.- East Campus features a 10-bed double occupancy unit with ICU and stepdown patients.- West Campus Stepdown has 14 rooms, double occupancy; average census is 20.- West Med Tele has 95 beds, divided into 4 areas, with MedSurg divided into 10-room pods, double occupancy.- Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6.- Common patient types: Geriatric, ortho, post-procedural patients, post-MI, post-Cardiac Cath, CABG post-op (day 3-4).- RNs required to titrate drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin.- Charge nurse available on each unit, without taking assignments.- Utilizes nurse aids in all settings.- RT Equipment includes CPAP/BiPAP at night in MedSurg, with BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High flow in PCU.- Monitor techs handle monitoring for PCU and MedSurg Tele; nurses must interpret strips.- Scheduling by float pool scheduler, published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time. Flexibility required; night shift may accommodate block scheduling.- Weekend requirements include every other weekend.- Holiday rotation includes travelers and perm staff.- Units assigned by text message 2 hours before shift start; distance between campuses is approximately 20-25 minutes.- Dress code: Solid color professional scrubs; navy scrubs alignment by October.- Orientation includes 8-hour general hospital orientation, 12-hour shifts in West MedTele and PCU units; East campus similar and smaller.- Charting system: Cerner
