TalEx is partnering with a consulting firm to identify a Senior Azure Engineer. This is a contract to hire opportunity located in Washington, DC, with some remote work available.
DESCRIPTION:
The primary role of the Azure Engineer is to provide expert-level Azure infrastructure support, focusing on the design, installation, configuration, development, integration, implementation, and testing of Microsoft Azure IAAS and PAAS services in complex environments. This role requires collaboration with other engineers and developers.The candidate must deliver timely and high-quality solutions to client problems and requests, emphasizing root cause analysis, prevention, knowledge transfer, and opportunity generation. Responsibilities include automations and deployments in the cloud, such as:Managing escalations and cases to ensure timely and high-quality resolution of all issues.Developing and implementing Active Directory strategies to reduce incidents, increase availability, or accelerate deployments.Initiating and participating in triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and efficiently resolve client problems.REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field with eight years of practical experience, or twelve years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.Minimum 7 years of extensive and applied experience with Azure, Active Directory, and Group Policy Object management, including design, configuration, and deployment.Minimum 5 years of experience supporting various authentication protocols (Kerberos, SAML, OAUTH, LDAP, etc.).Strong background with Active Directory Services including DNS, DHCP, and DFS.5 years of minimum experience in Active Directory Authentication, LDAP Authentication, and Single Sign-On methods.Excellent knowledge of federated identity systems (Microsoft ADFS), multi-factor authentication (Azure MFA preferred), and Microsoft AD Integration with Cloud Applications/Microsoft Azure Active Directory.Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2 (Standalone & Cluster) Operating system.Working knowledge of scripting technologies (PowerShell, C#, .NET) preferred.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Solid understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles.Experience with Windows Active Directory.Experience with PKI and Certificates.Experience with Forefront Identity Manager or Microsoft Identity Manager.Experience with Windows Azure, AWS, or other public Cloud technologies.Experience using PowerShell to develop complex automation scripts.Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or an equivalent certification.
