has been the best hope for many, the transplant itself can prove fatal or lead to serious conditions, such as graft vs. host disease. Orca Bio is a late-stage biotechnology company redefining the transplant process by developing next-generation cell therapies with the goal of providing significantly better survival rates with dramatically fewer risks. With our purified, high-precision investigational cell therapies we hope to not only replace patients' blood and immune systems with healthy ones, but also restore their lives.Summary:The VP of Global Market Access will lead the development and execution of strategies that optimize patient access to Orca Bio’s cutting-edge cell therapies, focusing primarily on the US and EU regions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and healthcare providers to navigate the complex market landscape.Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement market access strategies that align with corporate goals and drive the successful launch and commercialization of cell therapies.Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including payers, healthcare providers, and policymakers, to advocate for reimbursement and access.Market Analysis:
Conduct comprehensive market assessments to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the cell therapy landscape.Reimbursement Strategies:
Develop and oversee reimbursement strategies, including value-based pricing models, to ensure optimal reimbursement for products.Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all market access strategies comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with R&D, commercial, clinical, and regulatory teams to align market access strategies with product development and commercialization plans.Budget Management:
Oversee the market access budget and resources to ensure effective implementation of strategies.Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of market access professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.Qualifications
Education:
Advanced degree in life sciences, business administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.Experience:
15+ years in market access, with a focus on cell therapies or biologics, including leadership roles. Significant market building and launch experience required. Small company experience preferred.Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of the healthcare landscape, payer dynamics, and reimbursement processes, including inpatient/outpatient reimbursement, US payer value and pricing as well as EU HTA and coverage dynamics.Skills:
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects. Proven ability to develop and enhance product value propositions with US and EU payer audiences.Network:
Established relationships with key industry stakeholders and decision-makers across the US payer landscape.Key Competencies
