The Surgical Technologist (Operating Room Technician) is responsible for facilitating assigned surgical procedures through the assembly of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. This position functions competently and independently within multiple specialty areas.PRIMARY SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical proceduresCollaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeonsWork in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical proceduresPerform scrub role while supporting patient safety and a sterile environmentSupport post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization, and turnover of the Operating RoomWHAT WE REQUIRE:Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.LEGAL REQUIREMENT:Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical TechnologistWHAT WE OFFER:Along with competitive pay and benefits, we offer the following shift differentials for our Surgical Technologist staff:• Evening Shift: $1.75/hour• Night Shift: $2.50/hour• Weekends: $2.50/hourABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWESTUW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
