Assistant/Associate Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X Professor/ Physical Therapist: Oncology InpatientThe UCSF Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science is seeking a full-time member in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X Professor series (at the rank of Assistant or Associate) to provide Physical Therapy services in the inpatient rehabilitation services department at UCSF Parnassus Medical Center, with expertise and documented excellence in evidence-based oncology practice. The applicant will also support our UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy.The UCSF Parnassus Medical Center Rehabilitation Services serves a broad range of adult patients (adolescents to elders) with a variety of diagnoses in settings ranging from critical care to Emergency Department. Our primary clinical teams include Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants working on a host of initiatives including early mobility, delirium reduction, falls reduction, and outcomes improvements in the clinical areas of Orthopedics & Spine, Cardiac, Neurology, Medical/Surgery, Medicine, and Oncology.The applicants for this position are expected to:Practice evidence-based, high-quality careTeach students in the clinical settingRepresent the Faculty Practice within UCSF and the surrounding communitiesMaintain an active dialogue with UCSF referring providers and within the UCSF Health communityBasic Qualifications:Successful completion of a DPT degree from an accredited DPT ProgramBe board-certified or board eligible in Oncology specialtyCurrent CA State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of CA to practiceCardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification requiredPreferred Qualifications:2-3 years clinical experienceOncologic inpatient experienceCompletion of Acute Care ResidencyApplicants must meet all of the requirements by the time of hire. Applicants' materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission.The candidates may be asked to participate in teaching in DPT, Residency and/or PhD programming, and will instruct students in the Faculty Practice environments. This position initially is comprised of 95% patient care and 5% teaching. The faculty member is expected to participate in university governance, faculty meetings, departmental administrative meetings, quality assurance programs and continuing education.The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at UCSF is seeking applicants with demonstrated experience in working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and who are motivated to provide equitable clinical care, teaching practices and research activity.
