The Role

We have an immediate need for a talented

Senior Configuration Management Specialist . This position provides support and ownership to document control processes and training throughout the product life cycle, including development, sustaining and end-of-life. We are looking for someone that is highly motivated. The candidate must be a self-starter, team builder, and excellent communicator.

This position requires coordination and collaboration of activities with other functional groups and project managers within a matrix development environment. The Senior Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for providing and ensuring consistent and accurate configuration control in accordance with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System and will become the configuration management subject matter expert for our MRP/ERP system. This person will be process oriented and can review current processes and look to streamline and standardize according to ERP best practices.

Specific Job Duties

Be the Subject Matter Expert for Configuration Management. Own and manage the change order implementation procedure and process. Interface with functional departments to determine impact and actions necessary to implement the change. Authorize and approve change orders and ensure all content requirements have been met (i.e. verification report, customer notification, required approvers).Develop and optimize the process for releasing product configurations into the ERP system.Develop training tools for users of the process and deliver training of the same.Act as the department representative to implement an enterprise-wide ERP system.Lead efforts to develop, refine and implement configuration management processes and procedures according to the Configuration Management SO.Develop and manage metrics to track effectiveness of Configuration Management Department.Track change orders through their lifecycle of creation, routing, approvals, and release.Create and report on process metrics for Change Order Management.Update the Item Master and Bill of Material files in accordance with the change order and release document changes and closes change orders.Maintain product configuration identification system including part numbering, naming conventions, bill of material structure, etc.Maintain on-line accessibility and status accounting of all controlled engineering documentation. Review and approve documentation to ensure conformance to Particle Measuring Systems procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.Provide clear and accurate communication to internal customers. Clearly communicate both verbally and in writing, with Originators when discrepancies are found. Give precise guidance to originators for the proper process to follow when to correct issues/discrepancies.Provide support services in response to requests for information from users of the configuration management system. Train and coach ERP users in procedures and best practices related to configuration management and document control.Support and maintain all activities as they relate to engineering documentation, the ERP system, and engineering change requests. Coordinate hardware and software change requests.Other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.8 years minimum experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment managing and maintaining item masters and bill of materials for hardware and software products within an MRP/ERP system.Relevant Change Management experience managing complex hardware/software product configurations required.Experience Leading process development and improvement efforts.Strong knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in a manufacturing and engineering environment.ERP System experience highly desired. SAP S4 Hana preferred.Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment.Computer literate with expertise in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Quality Systems (i.e. Document Management System, Quality Management System).Attention to detail, self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions in a fast paced, time sensitive, and multifaceted cross functional environment.Ability to complete tasks independently while keeping supervision informed of progress.The Nuts and Bolts

Location

- This is an "in-office" position 50% of the time with Covid precautions being taken. The location of this position is in Boulder, CO. The remainder of the time you may be asked to work from home. These percentages are targets with the actual schedule to be determined in conjunction with the Manager's expectations for the position and training requirements.

Pay Range

$60,200 - 92,460 depending upon experience

How we determine what we pay (compensation philosophy)

Particle Measuring Systems determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for the Boulder, Colorado area. We will evaluate external equity, which is the relative marketplace job worth of jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we to make competitive offers between the minimum and around the midpoint of the range. This allows the new employee room for future merit increases during review cycles. There may be times when we will offer above the midpoint. The decision to do so will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and the compensation rates of the employees within the company doing the same position.
