ResponsibilitiesObtain blood specimens by capillary or venipuncture punctureMaintain integrity of specimen in relation to the test being performedDisposes of contaminated lab supplies and specimensReceives laboratory specimens, orders tests, processes specimens using the centrifuge and distributes specimens to appropriate testing areas communicating special instructionsPerforms clerical dutiesQualifications
High School diploma or GEDCertification as a Phlebotomy Technician (PBT, ASCP)
