Title: Datacenter Technician / IT Support (Hardware)Duration: 12 month rolling contract (project can go up to 2-4+ years)Location: Local to Goodyear AZRate: 24-28HRIdeal candidate:2-5+ years of experience working within IT Support on the hardware and server sideExperience working within the IT helpdesk spaceA+ Certification (not required)Professional with good communication, very reliableShifts:Candidate will need to work either A or B ShiftContractors will be paid 10 hours per day, 4 days a week, working the below.9 openings - A side day (Sunday Wednesday) 6 AM 5:30PM with a 1 hour lunch break and a hour afternoon break.9 openings - B side days (Wednesday Saturday) 6AM 5:30PM with a 1-hour lunch break and a hour afternoon break.Breaks cannot be taken consecutively and must be at least 3 hours apart.Locations :WEST VALLEYDuration: 12 month contractMust-haves2-5+ years of experienceLevel 3 experience working in a Data Center or Desktop Support environment working with HardwareAbility to work autonomously and within a local or geographically dispersed team environment.Great server hardware knowledge with a deep understanding of all component & system-type failuresAssist in conducting failure analysis on-field issues until the root cause is determined based on:Controlled testing of suspect hardware, system, or firmwareCommunication, Foundational Skills, and CompetenciesAttention to detail and accuracy in the investigation of issues, RCA/FA documents, etc. is critical to this role. It is essential to both the customer and VSEI.Provide timely, detailed, precise, and accurate feedback to the Engineering teams on failures, serviceability of servers, and integration with the data center.What youll do:We are seeking a strong Data Center Technician to support both company-specific servers as well as data center buildouts at customer data centers. The ideal candidate balances strong technical hardware, physical network set up, and verbal/written communication skills, who are also are highly analytical with superior attention-to-detail, self-motivated, and a positive, humble results driven attitude. This person will serve as a mentor and trainer to other Service technicians in the field. Technicians are also expected to provide feedback, create documentation on both technical and non-technical processes, and contribute to our knowledge library that can be leveraged by others, for example KB Articles, SOP, lessons learned, etc. Additionally, the Tech will be both internal and external facing with the ability to lead and drive initiatives as assigned to a conclusion.
