Overview
The Histology Technician II position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience, ASCP certification (HT or HTL) preferred, and involves performing various histology tasks such as trimming, embedding, microtomy, staining, and quality control of samples and slides. The role also requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining study records.
*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level. This is a non-exempt role paying $26-$33/hour.

Maintain confidential information consistent with Inotiv corporate policyDemonstrate Inotiv Core ValuesDeliver excellent client experiencesProvide insightful problem solvingAlways do the right thingBe humbly confidentGet it doneGeneralInteract with clients, other employees, and the community in a professional mannerSupport and participate in company initiativesSpecificIntroductory to proficient in tissue trimming and identificationProficient to mastery in the processing of tissue samples according to laboratory protocolsProficient to mastery in the skill of embedding tissue into paraffin blocksProficient to mastery in microtomy and to generate quality tissue sectionsAccurately mount tissue specimens on glass slidesExamine blocks and or slides to identify anatomical landmarks macroscopically or microscopically to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory requirementsTimely QC of routine and special stained slides and final reconciliation of study materialsProficient to mastery of routine H&E staining, special staining, coverslipping and use of all associated equipmentDocument and maintain study records to comply with appropriate regulatory requirementsIntroductory level of knowledge in alternate histology techniques (examples include cryosectioning, medical device embedding and sectioning)Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Education and experienceHave a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experienceCertified Histology Technician HT or HTL(ASCP), ASCP board certified eligible preferredHigh School Diploma or GED, with lab experience requiredSkills and abilitiesAttention to detail with strong organizational and communication skillsCritical thinking skills to recognize problems and initiate probable solution ideasAbility to multitask, be detailed orientated and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with the minimal supervisionProvide technical input as appropriatePerform calibration of laboratory equipment as assignedAbility to establish and maintain positive relationships with team members, pathologists and other Inotiv staff membersMaintain quality standards while adhering to deadlinesAbility and desire to learn new methods or workflowsGeneral knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new laboratory software*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
