Phlebotomist

Job Title: PhlebotomistJob DescriptionSeeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team! Responsibilities include data entry of patient information, performing blood draws, restocking supplies, processing and labeling samples, operating a centrifuge, and delivering high-level customer service.Responsibilities+ Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate work areas.+ Update patient information and ensure accurate specimen collection and storage according to established procedures.+ Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients.+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.+ Fully understand and follow physicians' orders.+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.+ Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.+ Package specimens for transport, store samples at required temperatures, and follow specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity.+ Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.+ Attend annual department trainings.+ Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to address inquiries.Qualifications+ Phlebotomy certification preferred+ 2+ years of phlebotomy experience in a fast paced lab or hospital setting+ High School Diploma or GED+ Microsoft OfficeSoft Skills+ High level of customer service+ Ability to multitask+ Comfortable in a fast paced environmentWork SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Waco, Texas.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
