A relocation package or lump sum is available for out-of-area candidates.Role Overview:

The Plant Accountant will play a critical role in managing financial operations within the manufacturing facility, including cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and inventory management. This position is key to ensuring the plant's financial data is accurately reflected in reports, enabling management to make informed decisions.Key Responsibilities:Cost Accounting (40%):Oversee all cost accounting activities within the plant, including purchasing, production, shipping, and inventory control.Ensure accurate cost tracking and reflection in profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet accounts.Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and process efficiency improvements.

Payroll Management (20%):Process weekly payroll for plant employees, ensuring timecards are accurate and payments are timely.Resolve any discrepancies in payroll data and ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Accounts Payable Oversight (35%):Review and resolve discrepancies related to open receipts and invoices.Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments, maintaining strong relationships with external partners.

Inventory & Asset Control (40%):Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and physical inventory checks.Oversee fixed asset tracking and ensure compliance with company policies.Coordinate capital expenditure requests (CERs) with project managers, monitor project spending, and ensure timely completion.

Expense Forecasting & Financial Reporting (5%):Assist with monthly and quarterly expense forecasts, focusing on operational costs and capital expenditures.Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process to ensure accurate financial statements.Report financial results to management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Provide recommendations based on financial data to support cost control and process improvement.

Process Improvement (Ongoing):Collaborate with various departments to identify opportunities for process and cost-efficiency improvements.Implement and support accounting policies and procedures that streamline operations and enhance overall financial reporting.
