About the Job:

Sr. Accountant will be responsible for preparing complex journal entries, intricate account reconciliations, financial reporting - GAAP and IFRS, and other complex month end close functions. Additional duties will include lead Accounting SME for TICF SOX compliance support, lead Accounting support with internal and external audit, and lead Accounting SME collaborating with affiliate business units and departments on special projects. Sr. Accountant will closely work with other departments especially Accounts Receivable, Tax and Treasury and provide necessary Accounting guidance.

What You'll Do:

Perform duties related to the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processPrepare detailed support and complete internal reporting and Japan parent company reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisPrepare complex account reconciliations ensuring that balances are clearly understood, and appropriate journal entries are made as requiredPrepare more complex journal entries along with required analysesResearch accounting issues to ensure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting standardsPrepare desktop guides for performing Senior Accountant dutiesLead General Accountant and other junior accounting personnel to review processes and procedures to identify and implement process improvements and efficienciesAccounting SME working closely with Treasury, Risk, Tax, Cash Applications, FP&A, and Commercial Finance operations on reporting or reconciliation issuesReview all debt and derivatives instruments valuations for reasonableness, accuracy, and completeness prior to month-end entriesProvide primary review for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close of debt & derivative schedules and journal entriesReview monthly and quarterly analytic reports for interest expense and derivative gains and lossesReview quarterly regression analysis for hedge accountingLead for all internal and external audit requestsEvaluate the accuracy and reasonableness of financial information generated by internal operational systems and by external business partnersAssist Commercial Finance with maintaining proper governance and controls over business activitiesLead Accounting SME for assigned analytical and special projectsLead Accounting SME with functional groups and outside service providers in support of system modification projects (major upgrades, enhancements, error correction, etc.)Build a sustainable training program for the accounting team, and other associates that are interested in the field of AccountingQualifications You'll Need:

Must Have:

Minimum of 5 -8 years or more of accounting experience and U.S. GAAP knowledge. IFRS experience is a plusAdvanced skills using MS Office products, primarily with Excel and more complex formulas (e.g. SumIf, Vlookup, Pivot Tables, macros)Strong working knowledge with SAP/Simple Finance, or similar ERP platformStrong analytical abilities capable of performing technical accounting research and accounting for financial instruments: derivatives, Asset Backed Commercial Paper, hedging, etc.Ability to prepare accounting memos and accounting white papers as they relate to current and new accounting standards: IFRS9, IFRS16, Hedging, Going Concern, etc.Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited UniversityCPA license requiredGreat to Have:
