Employment Type: Both full-time and part-time positions available (Flexibility to choose from 1099 or W2)
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking experienced Emergency Medical Physicians to provide high-quality care in the Emergency Department at Womack Army Medical Center. As an independent contractor, you will collaborate with both military and civilian healthcare professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adhering to nationally recognized standards of care. AIMS holds a long-term contract with the facility, offering opportunities for both full-time and part-time physicians.
Annual ER Volume and Daily Patient Volume:
- Annual patient volume in ER = 74,000
- Average daily volume: 215 patients daily.
- Providers typically see: 15-20 patients during a 12-hour Shift
- Shift Coverage: Both Day and Shift has : 3-4 physicians
- Admission Rate: around 22%
- Turnaround Time for Patients: Providers are expected to manage 1.55 encounters per hour
- Subspecialty Support: Intensivist, Radiology, Cardiology, Trauma team, Respiratory, Anesthesia, Nephrology and more
Qualifications:
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Certification:
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).
- Current ATLS, BLS, ACLS certification is strongly encouraged.
- Licensure: Valid, unrestricted Medical license in State of NC accepted.
- Experience: Minimum of three years in an emergency department setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Medical Care:
- Conduct evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for urgent and emergent conditions.
- Manage acute situations and perform advanced procedures (e.g., intubations, central lines, resuscitations).
Patient Management:
- Oversee care from admission to discharge and collaborate on individualized care plans.
- Refer patients to specialists and coordinate follow-up care.
Clinical Documentation:
- Maintain accurate patient records per AR 40-66 standards.
- Document all clinical interactions and ensure timely completion of medical records.
Procedural Competency:
- Perform various emergency procedures, including medication administration, wound care, and fracture management.
- Utilize advanced airway management techniques.
Shift Hours and Schedule:
- Shift Length: Emergency Medical Physicians will work shifts12 hours, depending on departmental needs.
- Shift Times: 12 hours: 0700-1900; 1900-0700.
Minimum Shift Requirement:
- Physicians must work a minimum of 4 shifts per month, with at least one shift every 30 days to maintain active access credentials (CAC).
Immunization Requirements:
- Complete a general physical examination and meet all immunization standards prior to starting clinical duties. This includes proof of immunity to hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and a current tetanus-diphtheria booster.
- Provide documentation of an annual flu vaccination and comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
- Undergo tuberculosis screening, with appropriate follow-up care as needed.
