Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position is a hybrid position. This position has not flexibility for fully remote work modality capabilities.
1. Provides project management and analysis skills to multiple system development and implementation projects.2. Follows standards, policies and procedures of University and ITS division to meet project goals and objectives. Helps to evaluate current standards and develop new ones.3. Ensures proper functioning of designated University administrative and departmental systems by planning, coordinating and implementing upgrades as necessary.4. Takes a leading role in evaluating the needs of the University's academic and administrative units and developing and implementing new information systems and services.5. Assists clients to understand and utilize our information systems to improve their efficiency and provide improved services.6. Works with developers (or codes software, depending on skills and complexity) and other ITS colleagues to meet the technical needs for assigned projects, consistent with division and department standards for technology and systems.7. Demonstrates a commitment to Loyola's mission and vision by supporting ITS core values of service excellence for university strategic initiatives and continuous development/improvement.8. Proactively manages change through existing change management processes.9. Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Education and/or Work ExperienceThis position requires a bachelor's degree in information technologies or equivalent experience with at least 4 years of experience in the field or related experience. Higher education experience is a plus.
QualificationsThe Student System Team at Loyola University Chicago is seeking a Senior level Application Systems Analyst. This position will be part of a team that supports the overall development, operational processes, and maintenance of the student information system at Loyola. The successful candidate will excel in skills such as development, implementation of ERP applications, customer service, attention to detail, technical integration based knowledge good and project management.
Qualifications:This position requires a bachelor's degree in information technologies or equivalent experience with at least 4 years of experience in the field or related experience. Higher education experience is a plus.
Serves as a technical lead in development efforts, requirement gathering processes, system implementation, updates, ERP maintenance, change requests with business partners and internal ITS staff.
Must be detail oriented, results focused, possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and be able to support change management initiatives.
Ability to manage multiple projects is a must.
Excels at documenting and communication both written and orally.
Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Generates creative solutions; Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in both group and individual problem-solving situations.
Responsible for working with developers and/or vendors to understand requirements, resolve technical issues, and adhere to division and University standards for technology and systems.
Responsibilities include coordination of testing, maintaining integrity of university data and systems and working in a timely way to resolve problems.

Makes recommendations and implements improvements to streamline or improve efficiency of processes through automation.
Serves as the primary contact for support issues and provides day-to-day operational administration of the University's business applications.

Provides leadership in team efforts to improve technical service and standards.

The majority of the work for this position will occur within the standard work week. However, this position will be on-call, and may need to work during off-hours to respond to problems or work on upgrades/installs.

Computer SkillsFamiliarity with relational database concepts and tools including SQL and SQL developer tools. Experience with web application and client/server application concepts including web server/application server architecture and HTML/XML.Knowledge of project management principles - ability to understand and apply concepts such as resource utilization, work effort, percent to complete and project health.Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Knows how to implement API solutions both from within PeopleSoft and outside of the PeopleSoft ERP.
