We will empower you to lead, develop deep expertise, and find new approaches to solving the toughest challenges.Position Overview:The ideal candidate will support the Small Business Council and the vice president for small business policy, as well as manage council membership and engage members regularly to increase their involvement in Chamber activities. The candidate will be responsible for member communications, programming, and other strategic outreach.Responsibilities:Serve as liaison for the Small Business Council.Establish relationships with the chair, vice chair, and other council leaders and conduct regular check-in calls.Recruit and retain council members.Monitor and review written materials disseminated by the Chamber and identify critical pieces of communications to share with council members.Coordinate programming for council meetings.Compose a monthly newsletter and regular communications.Invoice council members and manage the CRM system to ensure the accuracy of rosters and membership status.Draft and coordinate internal clearance of the council’s congressional and executive branch communications (e.g., testimony, letters, positions of support or opposition, and op-eds).Maintain the Small Business Council landing page.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ related work experience, preferably in a member-driven organization.An interest in industry trends impacting the small business community.Ability to develop and execute programs and meet deadlines.Knowledge of public policy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to present to a variety of audiences.Excellent customer service, organization, and multitasking skills.A creative and strategic thinker and an effective decision maker.Flexibility to travel.The salary range for this position is $77,000.00 to $83,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors.
