Overview

The

Dental Center Manager

manages the dental support staff and oversees the day-to-day operations of the front and back office. Addresses and resolves issues to maintain smooth flow and optimal service delivery. Responsible for organizing, planning and overseeing daily functions, patient appointments, care plans and special events. Maintains operating supplies and equipment, works with vendors. Monitors safety and compliance. Manages budget and reporting requirements. May provide direct patient dental care as needed.This is a full time, exempt, benefit eligible.LifeLong Medical Care is a large, multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a wonderfully diverse patient community. Responsibilities

Program OperationsRecruits, hires, orients, develops, supervises, evaluates and terminates staff and contractors.

Coordinates and oversees staff work and break/lunch schedules.Approves and submits timesheets.Develops, coordinates and implements dental center daily operations and supervises all administrative departments.Monitors and maintains delivery of high quality services; continually evaluates the participants' changing needs and makes necessary program adjustments.Monitors compliance of participants' plan of care.Ensure that Dental Department remains in compliance with HRSA and OSHA Standards.Provides support to participants and family caregivers, including family education and training.Maintains operating supplies and equipment service needs.Monitors clinical productivity and no show rates of patients.Responsible for compiling clinical productivity data as outlined in the Dental Dashboard.Administration, Compliance & BudgetWorks with Dental Director and Dental Operations Manager on the annual Dental budget within the framework of LifeLong's financial systems.Develops program activities within budget parameters, managing income and expenses to ensure both program quality and the financial health of the Dental clinical.Ensures compliance with Lifelong policies and all relevant regulations, including Title 22, Medi-Cal, the local health department, etc.Maintains records for and completes all necessary reporting to county & state agencies, Medi-Cal, the Veteran's Administration, other public or private funding sources, and LifeLong administration.Monitors changes in MediCal and other state requirements and recommends changes to LifeLong policies to comply. Develops and updates Dental Policy & Procedures manual, Informs staff, participants and caregivers about Dental policies.Participates in long-term program planning; recommends timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals.Community Relations and Coordination, Outreach and MarketingFunctions as a liaison to other community organizations. Actively engages program volunteers, committee members, board members, partnering organizations, and funders to build community support.Assists with marketing and outreach efforts, including community presentations and educational events.Other duties as assigned.

Commitment to the provision of primary care services for the underserved with demonstrated ability and sensitivity in working with a variety of people from low-income populations, with diverse educational, lifestyle, ethnic and cultural origins.Ability to effectively supervise staff and to contribute to staff development and build a cohesive team.Strong organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills, and ability to be flexible and adaptive to change.Ability to effectively present information to others, including other employees, community partners and vendors.Ability to work with individuals and organizations at the local level to build support.Ability to seek direction/approval from on essential matters, yet work independently with little onsite supervision, using professional judgment and diplomacy.Work in a team-oriented environment with a number of professionals with different work styles and support needs.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and be culturally sensitive.Commitment to the provision of primary care services for the underserved with demonstrated ability and sensitivity in working with a variety of people from low-income populations, with diverse educational, lifestyle, ethnic and cultural origins.Conduct oneself in external settings in a way that reflects positively on LifeLong Medical Care as an organization of professional, confident and sensitive staff.Ability to see how one's work intersects with that of other departments of LifeLong Medical Care and that of other partner organizations.Make appropriate use of knowledge/ expertise/ connections of other staff.Be creative and mature with a "can do", proactive attitude and an ability to continuously "scan" the environment, identifying and taking advantage of opportunities for improvement.Job RequirementsAssociates Degree.Registered Dental Assistant Licensure required.Three years' experience managing dental front and back office operations, including staff supervision.Knowledge of dental insurances and compliance with operating regulations.Experience managing budgets, data and producing reporting.Proficient in Microsoft office suite.Job PreferencesBachelor's degree in Health Administration, Public Health or related field preferred.Registered Dental Assistant Licensure required.Non-profit or community health experience a plus.
