Position Description:
The Manual Tester, 508 Compliance assesses software quality and 508 compliance standards through manual testing. This position supports the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Minimum/General Experience:
5 years of manual testing and 508 compliance experience
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
Essential Skills/Qualifications:Above average experience as a quality assurance (QA) tester performing manual testingAbove average experience with 508 compliance testingAbove average experience in QA and Agile methodologiesAbove average ability to document and troubleshoot errorsWorking knowledge of test management software (e.g., Jira, GitHub and Rational)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detailExcellent organizational skillsExcellent teamwork skillsAbove average analytical mind and problem-solving aptitudeSecurity : Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 yearsFederal Civilian Public Trust

Manually tests systems and/or applications for 508 compliance requirementsEvaluates product code according to specifications and 508 compliance requirementsDocuments and reports accessibility issues and supports remediation recommendationsWorks with accessibility testing toolsCollaborates with Business Analysts, Test Engineers and Test Planners/Managers to develop effective test strategies, test plans, and proceduresExecutes manual test cases and analyzes resultsCreates logs to document testing phases and defects and confirms that requirements are verified, validated, and meets 508 complianceReports bugs and errors to development teamsHelps troubleshoot issuesConducts post-release/ post-implementation testingWorks with cross-functional teams and ensures quality throughout the software development lifecycleConfigures necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testingManages the defect database and/or logsCompensation & Benefits:
The annual projected pay range for this position is $55,124 - $170,450 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.
