Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Execute the company's system / process of allocating overhead and other costs at the segment, region, and individual contract/job levels.Actively participate in efforts to streamline the overall financial close process, including exploring better and more efficient ways of allocating costs at the right level (and via the optimal mechanism and process) within the company (i.e. enhance and modernize the existing overhead allocation process)Prepare monthly and year-end balancing of all overhead-related balance sheet and income statement accounts.Prepare period-end accruals related to overhead costs to ensure accuracy/completeness.Prepare inventory accounting entries, as well as period-end account reconciliations.Support the development and review of job bids to ensure fully costed for both the Vegetation Management and Infrastructure segments.Analyze overhead costs (actuals and forecasting) to support the field and executive leadership needs.Regular interaction/support of the external auditors for the consolidated (and subsidiary) year-end audits, with regards to overhead-related accounts.Participate in special projects such as integration of new or acquired companies, system implements, process improvements, etc..Help with other responsibilities, as needed, such as real and personal property tax filings, payroll/bonus accruals and related filings.Requirements:
BS in Accounting.CPA preferred, but not requiredPreferred experience level - 3 to 5 years' experience in cost accounting/allocation of overhead costs, preferably in the service industry.Good written and verbal communication skills.Team player with a teachable attitude / willingness to learn.Ability to execute tasks within a project plan on time and at a high-level of quality.Working knowledge of MS Office toolsExperience using modern ERP's such as SAP or Oracle is preferredGood social skills in dealing with internal personnel, auditors, and customers.Pre-ScreenUpon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.Physical Requirements:Rarely:

Asplundh is the parent company of Asplundh Infrastructure Group whose subsidiaries provide overhead and underground line construction, planning and design, meter reading and AMR/AMI installation, electrical testing, and street lighting/traffic signal services. Asplundh also operates Rotor Blade Airborne Utilities Management, overhead electric distribution, and transmission lines using MD 500 helicopters.
