QA LEAD (Healthcare and AL ML)Direct Hire, Columbia, MDRemote with infrequent office visitsALTA IT Services has a direct hire opening for an experienced Software QA Lead with a passion for hands-on testing and quality assurance, to support a Columbia MD -based healthcare IT company.This is a remote position with infrequent office and/or customer visits.Experience with federal healthcare plans and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning (AL ML) is very strongly preferred.The QA Lead will actively participate in day-to-day testing activities while guiding a small team of QA engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for directly creating and executing test cases, managing automation, and driving the quality of our products. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring a hands-on approach to all phases of the QA process, from defining test strategies to executing and automating tests.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Hands-On Testing: Actively participate in manual and automated testing efforts, ensuring high-quality releases.Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing (for both API-based and GUI-based applications).Implement and maintain automated test frameworks, continuously improving the automation coverage.Lead and mentor a small team of QA engineers, while remaining actively involved in test case design, execution, and debugging.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and define testing strategies.Perform root cause analysis of defects and work with the development team to resolve them.Act as a quality champion throughout the software development lifecycle, identifying potential issues early in the process.Oversee end-to-end testing processes, including planning, execution, and tracking of all testing activities.Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and techniques to ensure efficient and effective quality assurance practices.Create and maintain detailed and clear documentation for all QA activities, including bug reports, test plans, and release notes.REQUIRED SKILLSBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.5+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, with strong expertise in both manual and automated testing.Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.Proficient in scripting for test automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).Experience in writing and executing complex SQL queries to validate data.Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).Experience with bug tracking tools like JIRA and test management tools like TestRail.Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.For consideration, please send an updated resume and salary expectations to Melissa McNally via mmcnally@altaits.com.System One, and its subsidiaries are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
