We are seeking a skilled Senior Developer Advocate to join Wherobots in shaping the future of geospatial cloud databases. You will engage and educate audiences on modern data architectures and geospatial data concepts, showcasing the power of Apache Sedona and Wherobots through impactful content such as demos, workshops, and presentations. You'll drive community growth, manage the Sedona website, and represent the platform at key events. As a leader, you'll influence content strategy and collaborate cross-functionally to support company goals. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring a secure, reliable, and scalable environment for our enterprise SaaS solutions.
Responsibilities
Teach our audiences about modern data architectures, data engineering, and ETL/ELT and how it can be valuable to them, introducing them to new concepts on geospatial data that can help them achieve their goals Showcase the capabilities of Apache Sedona and Wherobots for the use cases that our audiences care about Growth of the Apache Sedona community, continue to accelerate downloads of Sedona through evangelism and thought leadership Own the Apache Sedona website in collaboration with Wherobots CTO, the PMC chair for Apache Sedona Produce impactful technical content such as demos, videos, workshops, tutorials, technical white papers, conference presentations, and webinars that aligns with and supports company strategy and goals Represent Apache Sedona at customer and analyst engagements such as conferences, executive meetings, and community and customer meetups Be a leader within Wherobots. Leverage experience and engagement with Apache Sedona users and community to influence content strategy within Developer Relations, Marketing, and across Wherobots. Work cross-functionally with Wherobots teams, including Wherobots executives, and contribute to top-level company goals Requirements
5+ years experience independently developing demos, webinars, videos, technical collateral, value-oriented assessments, etc. At least 6 years of enterprise software experience, including 4 in product marketing or developer relations In-depth industry experience with data engineering and data science methodologies, and regularly write geospatial data applications using spatial SQL and python Hold positions of influence in open source projects and organizations such as TAG leads, maintainer status, author status Experience giving talks and developing demos, webinars, videos, and other technical content at industry events with 1,000+ attendees or experience as a keynote speaker Ability to travel up to 20% of the time Ability to use Wherobots
