Purpose of this Position:

The IT Systems Administrator involves the administration, governance, and support of enterprise systems and cloud systems utilized at McLeod Software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualizationInstall and upgrade computer components and software and manage virtual serversTroubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documentation problems, and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issuesConfigure and maintain resource monitors for responsible infrastructureProvide timely responses to tickets assigned and resource monitor alertsProvide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructurePerform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover proceduresResponsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performanceCompetencies:

Attention to detail and A centric attitudeWorking knowledge of virtualization and VMWareWorking knowledge of Windows Server and Linux serverKnowledge of Active DirectorySolid organizational skills, including multitasking and time managementKnowledge of server networking and hardwareKnowledge of storage a plus (SAN/NAS)Knowledge or PowerShell or shell scripting a plusExcellent oral and written communication skillsQualifications:

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's degree in related discipline strongly preferred, but consideration may be given to an exceptional candidate with 5 years of relevant experience.At least 5 years relevant work experience designing, implementing, administrating, or managing systems infrastructure at an enterprise scaleProven server administration experience with VMware, Windows and Linux Operation Systems

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret trade publications, technical documentation, reports, and other documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, peers, or business community members. Ability to write communications and documentation grammatically correct for routine business correspondence.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret various technical instructions with abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Word Processing and spreadsheet software and be able to troubleshoot, recreate, and resourcefully solve complex technical problems.Knowledge of networking, Windows, and Mac systems.Knowledge of virtualization and VMWare.Working knowledge of Active Directory.Knowledge of server networking, hardware, and storage (SAN/NAS).Knowledge of PowerShell or shell scripting is a plus.
