We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with expertise in both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
You will play an integral role in our monthly financial close processes, help us scale, and identify process improvements and efficiencies. This position will provide an excellent opportunity for someone who is knowledgeable, invested, and creative and will support the smooth operation of all accounting matters. This position will work out of our Fife, WA headquarters.
What You'll Do:Accounts Payable:
Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, approval workflow, and timely payment processing.Manage vendor relationships, resolving any payment discrepancies or issues promptly and professionally.Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and reconcile vendor statements regularly.Develop and implement improvements to the accounts payable process to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
Accounts Receivable:
Manage the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and cash application.Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up on overdue balances as necessary.Work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries.Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger and investigate any discrepancies.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Perform variance analysis and provide insights into key financial metrics to support decision-making.Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and procurement, to optimize processes and achieve company objectives.Provide financial expertise and guidance on projects and initiatives as needed.Act as a key resource for accounting-related inquiries and support the professional development of junior team members.
What You Need to be Successful:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a focus on both accounts payable and accounts receivable.Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in the technology industry or a fast-growing company is a plus.Not afraid of change, natural proclivity for learning and continuous improvementBenefits:
