Job Description

The Risk Management/Quality Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors within a behavioral health setting. This position involves developing and implementing effective Risk Management/Quality strategies, conducting thorough investigations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Analyst supports patient safety and Risk Management/Quality activities, overseeing claim management functions, conducting risk assessments, and performing root cause analyses. They manage the Patient Safety Council and integrate the corporate TERM program into the Risk Management/Quality framework. Collaborating with department directors and the executive team, the specialist provides expertise on regulatory standards and educates staff on best practices. The Director of Risk Management/Quality oversees the Analysts activities.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. 3-5 years related work experience required, 5-8 years related work experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards in mental health care. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations in quality assurance and Risk Management. Strong skills in analyzing clinical and nonclinical care practices.

Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology, appropriate levels of patient care and treatment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with interdisciplinary staff. Ability to provide guidance on quality assurance and Risk Management/Quality regulations.

Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to quality assurance and Risk Management/Quality programs. Familiarity with JOINT COMMISSION, TDMHSAS, CMS standards, and other applicable laws. Ability to identify and address potential liability issues.

Proficiency in report preparation and clear communication, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of principles and practices of health care administration pertaining to quality assurance/Risk Management program.

2 years of office or administrative assistant experience required.

Healthcare Experience Preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and hospital software programs.
