JOB SUMMARY
The Office of the Registrar is looking for a Registrar's Assistant to support the daily operations of the Registrar's Office, with a primary focus on general office triage. This position is responsible for greeting and assisting all customers who visit, call, and email the Registrar's Office. Reporting to the University Registrar, the Registrar's Assistant provides support and oversight of the cross-registration process, coordinates and manages New Student Registration, maintains the Office of the Registrar website, monitors the consent@simmons.edu email address, and the processing of registrations and add/drop forms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Customer Service: (60%)In collaboration with another Registrar's Assistant, greet students, faculty, staff, and guests when they enter the office;
Serve as one of two points of contact for front office triage.
Respond to all inquiries and questions via all modes of contact;
Promote a friendly and inclusive atmosphere;
Communicate university policies and procedures to various constituencies, including but not limited to students, parents, faculty, and staff); and process registrations and add/drop forms.
Administrative Operations: (25%)
Collect and distribute daily mail;
Monitor the registrar@simmons.edu inbox;
Process registrations and add / drop forms;
Will work collaboratively across academic and administrative departments to ensure consistency of information and policies within the University's Academic catalog.
Technology Liaison: (10%):
Works collaboratively with the Office of Technology to resolve issues in the student information system and/or the student portal and troubleshoot issues, serves as the lead role for the Registrar's Office on data cleanup efforts.
Liaison to Student Financial Services. Address discrepancies of student types, making changes as necessary. Perform credit audit each semester to address discrepancies between academic and billing credits. Identify and resolve all duplicate accounts.
Provides customer service to students, faculty, staff, and fellow administrators, in person, over email, and on the phone with questions about registration/records, courses, curriculum requirements, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of Student Information System- Workday preferred
1-2 years of directly related experience in a Registrar's Office preferred
COMPETENCIES
Experience in understanding administrative registration matters across higher education
Detail-oriented, customer service and compliance-focused
High standard of professionalism and customer service to the general public, students, faculty, and Staff
Proven ability to follow instructions and complete assigned projects and related tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Hybrid eligible for up to 2 days of remote work
Typical environment is an office setting with moderate noise.
Physical activities required are finger dexterity, which is necessary to operate equipment used in the position, as well as talking, seeing, and hearing. Walking, sitting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and minimal unassisted lifting (up to 20 pounds) associated with the job duties are required.
Occasional weekends required
