Ruan is now hiring a Managed Transportation Intern for Summer 2025.
This is a full-time position that will work a mix of on-site at our downtown Des Moines campus and remote.
The Managed Transportation Specialist Intern will work with multiple dedicated managed transportation customer accounts. This position will learn routing optimization, carrier tracking, and work on continuous improvement projects that will directly impact Ruan and its customers.The purpose of the internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a career in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or applicable division.Interns may be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the transportation business.Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace.This position works very closely with internal and external customers; strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.The purpose of the internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a career in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or applicable division. Interns may be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the transportation business. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, part-time/hourly.

% of TIME SPENTDuties may include assisting in the preparation of reports and presentation material 25%Provide day-to-day business activities focused on meeting internal and external customer needs 25%Fully support financial business case analysis 25%Participate in major cost and process improvement initiatives and projects, and provide technical support in managing the business unit's financial performance. 20%Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required. 5%"
