Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Wound Care Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (06:30 - 17:00) Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid State License; applicable licenses accepted if obtained in Missouri Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Wound/Ostomy Care Must-Have: - Experience with hospital settings - Colostomy care and management - Continence skin care management - Expertise in managing various stomas (Double barrel, End, Ileostomy, Loop with Rod, Mucous fistula) - Ostomy equipment selection - Experience with fecal incontinence programs - Burns management (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th degree) - Pressure ulcer, venous ulcer management - Infection control and isolation precautions Job Description: - Provide wound assessment, measurement, staging, and treatment - Deliver wound care recommendations and orders - Participate in staff and patient/family education - Mark ostomy sites and conduct teaching - Order and manage supplies - Collaborate with other departments and escalate assessment concerns - Utilize wound management tools: Alginates, Autolytic debriding agents, Enzymatic Debriding Agents, Foams, Hydrocolloids, Hydrogels, Silver Products, Vacuum Assisted Closure, Wet to damp dressing change, Wound Vac Therapy - Conduct G-tube/J-tube feeding and site care - Perform Braden scale assessment and neuropathic, peripheral arterial, and venous status ulcer assessment - Ensure EPIC charting system proficiency - Float within service line as needed - Work in a Magnet and Teaching Level I Trauma Center
