Overview:

Assist in the coordination and maintenance of data bases related to all PI projects in the Emergency Department by providing data extraction, data entry, report generating using computerized data bases. Assist in all ED follow up of laboratory and radiology studies for discharge patients.Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees.

- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.

- Assists in the coordination and provision of necessary backup assistance for data compilation, data entry, report generation and programming maintenance of computerized databases.- Interfaces with NYC Department of Health, CMS and other agencies regarding mandatory reports.

- Responsible for data abstraction and submission

- Coordinate daily data collection process.

- Prepares, on behalf of the Department of Emergency Medicine daily and weekly statistical reports.

- Manages the work list of ED follow up cases in a timely manner under the supervision of a physician. This involves accessing patient records for test results, communicating test results and instructions to patients in a professional manner, documenting in patient record, seeking guidance from supervising physician, providing feedback to providers

- Ensures patient confidentiality throughout all phases of procedures.Qualifications:- Two years of college coursework in computers, experience in computer database development, data entry.- High school or GED- Bachelors- Ability to compile and maintain confidential data.- Ability to oversee and provide back-up assistance for the maintenance of the AIDS Program patient identification/tracking census database.- Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills.- Extensive Computer Knowledge
